Plug valve is a type of valve where the closure element or the plunger is in a rotating form. By rotating 90 degrees, the passage on the plunger connects or separates from the passage on the valve body, thereby achieving opening or closing. The shape of the valve plunger can be cylindrical or conical. In a cylindrical plunger, the passage is generally rectangular; while in a conical plunger, the passage is trapezoidal. These shapes make the structure of the plug valve lightweight. It is most suitable for cutting off and connecting media as well as for分流 purposes.
