T-type three-way ball valves (models Q45F/Q645F/Q945F, etc.) belong to the three-way ball valve series. The internal flow path of the ball is T-shaped; by rotating the ball through 90°, **the medium can be merged, diverted or the flow direction switched between three orthogonal pipelines**, making it the core valve for fluid pipeline distribution control (Douyin Encyclopedia). Unlike L-type three-way ball valves, which can only connect two lines, T-type three-way ball valves can **enable interconnection between all three channels, or shut off any one channel whilst connecting the other two**, offering greater flexibility in flow path selection.
Principle of Operation
The ball features a T-shaped bore; rotating the ball alters the alignment of the flow paths:
1. All three channels are connected, enabling the mixing and convergence of the medium;
2. Any single channel can be shut off whilst the other two remain open, enabling the diversion and redirection of the medium;
3. It can replace multiple sets of straight-through valves, simplifying the piping system, reducing the number of valve components, and lowering piping costs and the risk of operational errors.
Structural Features
1. Sealing structure: Standard dual-seat design; a **four-seat seal** is also available, ensuring balanced force distribution and reliable sealing; sealing surfaces can be optionally fitted with PTFE soft seals or hard alloy spray-welded hard seals, suitable for high-temperature and abrasive media applications.
2. Flow paths: Full-bore design minimises fluid resistance and prevents media stagnation, making it suitable for media containing particles or slurries.
3. Actuation Methods: Manual, worm gear, pneumatic, electric or hydraulic. The high-platform design facilitates actuator installation and is suitable for remote automated control.
4. Connection Types: Flanged, butt-welded, threaded, etc.; valve body materials include WCB, CF8, CF8M and HC276, covering both standard and corrosive service conditions.
Key Technical Features
- Requires only a 90° rotation to open or close, ensuring rapid operation; when fully open or fully closed, the sealing surfaces are isolated from the medium, reducing erosion and extending service life;
