OVAL gaskets are a type of metal ring gasket, typically installed in trapezoidal grooves between two connecting flanges. Unlike octagonal ring gaskets that make surface contact, OVAL gaskets form line contact with the flange groove. This design results in a smaller contact area under the same preload, thereby increasing pressure per unit area and enabling tighter sealing with superior sealing performance. Particularly in conditions involving pressure or temperature fluctuations, OVAL gaskets maintain excellent sealing stability.
