Detailed Introduction
Polyamide fibers have a specific gravity of 1.14. Their disadvantage is relatively poor light resistance; prolonged outdoor sunlight exposure can cause yellowing and strength reduction.
1. Good wear resistance.
2. High breaking strength.
3. Moisture absorption: At 20°C and 65% relative humidity, the moisture content is 3.4-3.8%.
4. Heat resistance: Polyamide fibers have poor heat resistance—they turn yellow after 5 hours at 150°C and begin to soften at 170°C. They are best used below 120°C. However, they have excellent low-temperature resistance, maintaining good elastic recovery even at -70°C.
5. Chemical resistance: Polyamide fibers have good alkali resistance but poor acid resistance.
MOLON is produced by filling NYLON66 with MOS₂, offering superior stability and wear resistance.
NYLON and MOLON are primarily used in high-pressure applications, but the notable disadvantages of polyamide materials also limit their usage.
Different grades can be selected based on specific working conditions (such as high-temperature resistant PA46, or PA12 with better low-temperature performance and toughness).
