Stainless steel balls are metal spheres made from stainless steel with a chromium content of ≥12.5% through forging processes. Their surface chromium oxide layer helps resist air and acid-base corrosion. According to international standards, they are divided into the 200 series (chrome-nickel-manganese), 300 series (chrome-nickel), and 400 series (chrome-based). Among these, the 200 and 300 series have an austenitic structure, while the 400 series is mostly martensitic or ferritic.

Different materials have distinct characteristics: 440C stainless steel balls have a hardness of HRC56-58, are magnetic, wear-resistant, and highly corrosion-resistant, commonly used in aerospace bearings and precision valves; 420 series has a hardness of HRC50-55, suitable for regular corrosion-resistant applications like motorcycle parts; 304/316 series have a hardness of ≤HRC28, are non-magnetic, and highly rust-resistant, used in medical equipment and food machinery; the 201 series is an economical option mainly used in hardware accessories and other low-corrosion-demand scenarios. The product sizes range from 0.3mm to 63.5mm, and production involves more than ten steps including cold heading, polishing, and heat treatment, following industry standards like GB/T 308-2013.
