ZPG Automatic Backwash Filter
Overview
ZPG Automatic Backwash Filter overcomes many shortcomings of traditional filtering equipment, such as small dirt holding capacity, easy clogging, requirement of disassembly for cleaning filter elements and inability to monitor operating status.
It integrates raw water filtration and automatic filter element cleaning & blowdown functions. The system can continuously supply water during cleaning and blowdown. Meanwhile, the operating status of the filter can be monitored in real time with high automation level.
The backwash filter can be installed vertically, horizontally, inverted or in any other orientation. It is widely applied to water filtration in various industries including industry, agriculture, municipal power, electronics, pharmaceutical, food, printing & dyeing, iron & steel, metallurgy, papermaking, etc.
Working Principle
Under normal operation, the flow guide butterfly plate is open. Water enters from the inlet, and particulate impurities are trapped by the filter screen.
During filtration, contaminants accumulate on the inner side of the screen and form a dirt layer, generating pressure difference between the inner and outer sides of the screen. When the pressure difference reaches the preset value, the cleaning process starts, and clean water supply will not be interrupted throughout the process.
Cleaning procedure: Firstly close the middle flow guide butterfly plate, then open the blowdown valve for sewage discharge. After sewage is fully drained, close the blowdown valve and open the flow guide butterfly plate to complete blowdown.
ZPG-L Automatic Backwash Filter is suitable for straight pipes and elbow sections. ZPG-I Automatic Backwash Filter can be installed horizontally or vertically. For vertical installation of straight-through type, water flow shall be from top to bottom.
During installation, ensure the arrow mark on the housing is consistent with medium flow direction.
The butterfly valve remains open in normal operation. For blowdown, close the butterfly valve and open the blowdown valve until sewage is completely drained, then reopen the butterfly valve to finish blowdown.
Advantage: Effectively protect downstream valves and extend service life of valves.
